\n<\/span><\/strong>Die Cardhu\u2011Destillerie ist eine bekannte Whisky\u2011Brennerei in der schottischen Region Speyside, nahe dem Ort Archiestown. Sie wurde offiziell im Jahr 1824 von John Cumming und seiner Frau Helen gegr\u00fcndet, deren Familie die fr\u00fche Entwicklung der Brennerei entscheidend pr\u00e4gte.
\nDie Anf\u00e4nge von Cardhu liegen jedoch schon etwas fr\u00fcher: Urspr\u00fcnglich produzierten die Cummings ihren Whisky illegal auf einem Bauernhof. Besonders Helen Cumming spielte dabei eine zentrale Rolle \u2013 sie gilt als eine der bedeutendsten Frauen in der Geschichte des schottischen Whiskys.
\nIm Laufe des 19. Jahrhunderts entwickelte sich Cardhu zu einer erfolgreichen Brennerei. Ein wichtiger Meilenstein war der Verkauf an John Walker & Sons im Jahr 1893. Seitdem ist Cardhu eng mit der Marke Johnnie Walker verbunden und liefert bis heute einen gro\u00dfen Teil des Whiskys f\u00fcr deren bekannte Blends.
