Der Name Craigellachie bedeutet \u201efelsiger H\u00fcgel\u201c und bezieht sich auf die Klippe, die den Fluss \u201eSpey\u201c \u00fcberblickt. Craigellachie wurde 1891 unter dem Namen \u201eCraigellachie Distillery Co. Limited\u201c von einer Gruppe aus Mixern und H\u00e4ndlern, unter der Leitung von Alexander Edward gegr\u00fcndet. Zwei Jahre sp\u00e4ter wurde sie als Aktiengesellschaft umfirmiert und 1896 als Craigellachie-Glenlivet Distillery Ltd. eingetragen. Seit 1997 befindet sich Craigellachie im Besitz von Bacardi. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 4 Mio. Liter<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fact: <\/strong>Craigellachie geh\u00f6rte fr\u00fcher mal United Distillers (UD), die nun unter dem Diageo Konzern zusammengefasst sind. Sie war also eine Schwestermarke von Caol Ila, Cardhu, Clynelish, Cragganmore, Lagavulin, usw. Einer der Gr\u00fcnder 1891 war auch Peter Mackie, dessen Name unzentrennlich mit White Horse Distillers und dem weltber\u00fchmten Blend \u201eWhite Horse\u201c verbunden war.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: 14yo Oloroso Cask Finish 2008\/2022 \/ Benchmark Serie (Murray McDavid)<\/strong><br \/>\nDieser 14 Jahre alte Craigellachie geh\u00f6rt zur Benchmark Serie des unabh\u00e4ngigen Abf\u00fcllers Murray McDavid, der in der Speyside bei der Coleburn Brennerei beheimatet ist. In seinen verschiedenen Serien f\u00fcllt er die verschiedensten Single Malts, Grains und Blends ab.In dieser Serie werden Whiskys in auserw\u00e4hlten F\u00e4ssern nachgereift. So wurde dieser Single Malt zun\u00e4chst im Bourbon Hogshead gereift und anschlie\u00dfend in Oloroso Sherry Casks veredelt. Das Design der Flasche ist mit einem dickeren Glasboden und einem hochwertigen Holzgriffkorken versehen. Die edle Verpackung und das Etikett dieser Abf\u00fcllung erstrahlt in einer frischen Farbgebung aus Silber- und Gr\u00fcnt\u00f6nen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:<\/strong> Murray McDavid wurde von den Londoner Weinh\u00e4ndlern Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin und Gordon Wright (von der Springbank Distillery) gegr\u00fcndet. Sie erlangten schnell den Ruf, Whisky in interessanten F\u00e4ssern (wie Weinf\u00e4sser) zu reifen. Im Jahr 2000 machte sich das Murray McDavid-Team daran, die geschlossene Bruichladdich Distillery auf Islay wiederzuer\u00f6ffnen, die im Jahr 2012 an den Spirituosenriesen Remy Cointreau verkauft wurde.
