Destille: Tomintoul
\n<\/strong>Die Brennerei Tomintoul liegt im ber\u00fchmten Tal des Flusses Livet. Im Herzen der Speyside liegt in Ballindalloch unweit von Tomintoul, dem h\u00f6chstgelegensten Dorf Schottlands, die gleichnamige Whisky-Brennerei. Die beiden Whiskyh\u00e4ndler W. & S. Strong & Co. und Hay & HacLeod & Co aus Glasgow gr\u00fcndeten 1964 das Unternehmen Tomintoul Distillery Ltd. und im Juli 1965 wurde die Tomintoul Destillerie gebaut. Nur rund ein Jahrzehnt betrieb man die Brennerei, bevor sie 1973 an den Scottish & Universal Investment Trust ver\u00e4u\u00dfert wurde. Neben Tomintoul erwarb der Trust auch die Fettercairn Brennerei und den Blender Whyte & Mackay, in dessen Verwaltung die Brennereien eingegliedert wurden. Immer im Schlepptau von Whyte & Mackay war die Tomintoul Brennerei, bis diese im Jahr 2000 an die englische Firma Angus Dee Ltd. verkauft wurde. Tomintoul l\u00e4uft mit voller Auslastung 46 Wochen im Jahr 24\/7, was einer j\u00e4hrlichen Produktionsmenge von 3,3 Millionen Litern entspricht.<\/p>\n

Fun fact 1:<\/strong> Wasser ist die Lebensquelle jeder Whiskybrennerei und deshalb entstanden sie immer dort, wo ausreichendes und gutes Wasser vorhanden war. Vor dem Bau der Tomintoul Brennerei wurde ein Jahr gesucht, bis die Ballantruan Quelle gefunden wurde und damit der Standort festgelegt werden konnte.<\/p>\n

Fun fact 2:<\/strong> Tomintoul verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber spezielle energiesparende W\u00e4rmetauscher. Nach Abk\u00fchlung der Alkohold\u00e4mpfe wird die aufgefangene W\u00e4rme wieder der Maische zugef\u00fchrt.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Tawny Port Cask\u00a0<\/strong>
\nF\u00fcr den Tomintoul Small Batch Tawny Port Cask Finish wurden ausgew\u00e4hlte, in Ex-Bourbonf\u00e4ssern gereifte, Tomintoul Whiskys miteinander verm\u00e4hlt und erhielten anschlie\u00dfend ein Finish in handverlesenen Tawny Portweinf\u00e4ssern aus Portugal. Dieser Whisky ist Teil der neuen Wood-Finish-Range von Tomintoul und begeistert durch seine perfekte Mischung aus Frucht und W\u00fcrze.<\/p>\n
