Die Urspr\u00fcnge der Highland Park Destillerie sind, wie so oft, \u00ab\u00a0Wolken aus Halbwahrheit und Whisky-Mythen\u00a0\u00bb. Es ist bis heute nicht ganz klar ob Highland Park vom ber\u00fchmten Priester und Schmuggler Magnus Eunson oder vom Farmer David Robertson gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Fakt ist, dass das reich verzierte, schmiedeeiserne Tor der Brennerei auf eine Geschichte von 1798 hinweist. Fakt ist auch, dass sie 1826 eine erste offizielle Lizenz zum Destillieren von Whisky bekamen. Highland Distillers \u00fcbernahmen 1937 die volle Kontrolle am Unternehmen, sodass Highland Park heute Teil der Edrington Group ist. Der Name der Brennerei bezieht sich nicht auf die schottischen Highlands, sondern auf die Tatsache, dass die Brennerei auf einem Gebiet namens \u00ab\u00a0High Park\u00a0\u00bb gegr\u00fcndet wurde, das sich von einem niedrigeren Gebiet in der N\u00e4he unterscheidet. Aktuelles j\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 2,5 Mio.
