Die walisische Whisky Tradition ist l\u00e4nger als allgemein bekannt und hat ber\u00fchmte Namen hervorgebracht. Im Jahre 1705 gab es eine kleine Destillerie in Dale, Pembrokeshire und es wurde erstklassiger \u00ab\u00a0wysgi\u00a0\u00bb gebrannt. Sie geh\u00f6rte der Familie von Evan Williams, die sp\u00e4ter in die USA auswanderte und dort die Whiskeyindustrie in Kentucky mitgr\u00fcndete. Im 19. Jahrhundert gab es eine Whiskydestillerie in Frongoch in der N\u00e4he von Bala (Nord Wales), die in den sp\u00e4ten Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts geschlossen werden musste. Jack Daniel und Evan Williams stammten aus Wales und waren Auswanderer in die USA. Tradition verpflichtet und so entschied sich Penderyn im wesentlichen Ex-Bourbon-F\u00e4sser zu nutzen. Zudem wird in S\u00fcdweinf\u00e4ssern gefinished da \u00fcber den Hafen Bristol in der Vergangenheit mehr S\u00fcdweine importiert wurden, als \u00fcber jeden anderen Hafen in Gro\u00dfbritannien. J\u00e4hrliche Produktionskapazit\u00e4t liegt bei 300.000 Litern.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun fact: <\/strong>Es ist der erste Whisky, der in Wales destilliert wird, seit die Frongoch Destillerie schlie\u00dfen mu\u00dfte. Die Bauart der Geb\u00e4ude enstand nach modernsten Standards aber auch etwas paradox und dem Stil der Frongoch Destillerie nachempfunden. Die Destillerie integriert sowohl Destillations- und Abf\u00fcllanlage als auch die Lagerh\u00e4user. Die Potstill wurden von einem Team unter Leitung von Dr. David Faraday (einem Nachfahren von Sir Michael Faraday, dem Entdecker der Elektrolyse und der elektromagnetischen Induktion) entwickelt. Die Brennerei gilt als eine der kleinsten der Welt, konnte aber bereits 2008 ein eigenes Besucherzentrum einrichten, zu dessen Einweihung der Prince of Wales, Prinz Charles, pers\u00f6nlich erschien!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Madeira Finish<br \/>\n<\/strong>Der Penderyn Madeira Finish r\u00e4umte auf der International Whisky Competition drei Goldmedaillen in den Jahren 2012, 2013 und 2014 ab. Er reift in Bourbon-F\u00e4ssern von Jack Daniels und Evan Williams und wird danach in Madeira-F\u00e4ssern zum Finish gebracht. Dies sorgt f\u00fcr eine Vielzahl an Geschmacksnuancen, die sanft den Gaumen kitzeln. Der Geschmack ist dadurch ungemein fruchtig und intensiv. Der Penderyn ist nicht k\u00fchlgefiltert und ungef\u00e4rbt.
