Destille: Highland Park
\n<\/strong>Highland Park Distillery ist eine Single Malt Scotch Whisky Destillerie in Kirkwall auf den Orkney Islands, Schottland. Die Urspr\u00fcnge der Highland Park Destillerie sind, wie so oft, \u00ab\u00a0Wolken aus Halbwahrheit und Whisky-Mythen\u00a0\u00bb. Es ist bis heute nicht ganz klar ob Highland Park vom ber\u00fchmten Priester und Schmuggler Magnus Eunson oder vom Farmer David Robertson gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Fakt ist, dass das reich verzierte, schmiedeeiserne Tor der Brennerei auf eine Geschichte von 1798 hinweist. Fakt ist auch, dass sie 1826 eine erste offizielle Lizenz zum Destillieren von Whisky bekamen. Highland Distillers \u00fcbernahmen 1937 die volle Kontrolle am Unternehmen, sodass Highland Park heute Teil der Edrington Group ist. Der Name der Brennerei bezieht sich nicht auf die schottischen Highlands, sondern auf die Tatsache, dass die Brennerei auf einem Gebiet namens \u00ab\u00a0High Park\u00a0\u00bb gegr\u00fcndet wurde, das sich von einem niedrigeren Gebiet in der N\u00e4he unterscheidet. Aktuelles j\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 2,5 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt: <\/strong>Highland Park Distillery ist die zweitn\u00f6rdlichste Single Malt Scotch Whisky Destillerie in Schottland (Kimbland Destillerie auf Sanday liegt 22 Meilen weiter n\u00f6rdlich).
\nFun fact No.2: <\/strong>Sollte der oben beschriebene Mythos stimmen, dass Magnus Eunson Highland Park gegr\u00fcndet hat, dann ist dieser Eunson tags\u00fcber ein Metzger und Kirchenbeamte gewesen, der sich Nachts zu einem illegalen Destillateur & Whiskyschmuggler \u00ab\u00a0verwandelt\u00a0\u00bb hat. 1798 wurde er beim illegalen Destillieren von Whisky auf dem heutigen Gel\u00e4nde erwischt.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Cask Strength Batch 2
\n<\/strong>Highland Park Cask Strength Batch 2 ist das zweite Batch der Cask Strength Abf\u00fcllungen. Neben dem etwas h\u00f6heren Alkoholgehalt von 63,9%, hat sich auch das Geschmacksprofil ver\u00e4ndert. Jedoch ist Release No 2 ebenso eine robuste und intensive Abf\u00fcllung von den Orkney Inseln. Das zweite Batch hat keine Altersangabe, enth\u00e4lt aber wahrscheinlich Whiskys zwischen zehn und zw\u00f6lf Jahren. Der edle Tropfen wird \u00fcberwiegend in Sherryf\u00e4sser ausgebaut und ein kleiner Teil verbringt die Reifezeit in ehemaligen Bourbon-F\u00e4ssern. Der Cask Strength Release No.2 hat eine intensive Tiefe, Komplexit\u00e4t und Balance. In der Nase aromatischer Torf, duftende Rosen, saftigen Birnen und am Gaumen feine Birnen- und Mandelkuchennoten, die unterlegt sind mit ger\u00f6steten Eichenaromen. Im langen Abgang zeigen sich Aromen von Lakritz, schwarzer Pfeffer und Anis.<\/p>\n
