Whisky\/Whiskey: Rock Island Sherry Edition (Douglas Laing)
\n<\/strong>Eine limitierte Abf\u00fcllung von Douglas Laing’s Rock Island Blended Malt (nur 3.000 Flaschen weltweit!!!) mit einem ausgesprochenen Sherry-Stil. Basierend auf Malts von Islay, Arran, Jura und Orkney genoss dieser Ausdruck seine letzte Reifephase in speziell ausgew\u00e4hlten spanischen Sherry-Butts. Das Ergebnis ist ein Whisky, der einen deutlichen Salzgehalt von der K\u00fcste bietet, sowie durch die S\u00fc\u00dfe von getrockneten Fr\u00fcchten und die w\u00e4rmende W\u00fcrze brillant ausgeglichen daher kommt.
\nIn der Nase finden sich \u00ab\u00a0Rosinen, ger\u00f6steter brauner Zucker, Gischt und Wurstwaren\u00a0\u00bb. Am Gaumen folgt dann \u00ab\u00a0sanfter Torfrauch und gesalzene Cracker, dazu Erdbeermarmelade und St\u00e4ngeling\u00a0\u00bb und der Abgang zeichnet sich dann durch \u00ab\u00a0nachhaltig gesalzenes Karamell und Zimt\u00a0\u00bb aus. Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:<\/strong> Bis 2013 arbeiteten die Br\u00fcder Fred-Douglas und Stewart Laing zusammen und leiteten das familieneigene Abf\u00fcllunternehmen bevor sie beschlossen, das Verm\u00f6gen des Unternehmens aufzuteilen und getrennte Wege zu gehen. Douglas Laings Tochter Cara schloss sich ihrem Vater an und brachte ihre umfangreiche Erfahrung mit schottischem Whisky mit, nachdem sie als Global Brand Manager f\u00fcr Jura Single Malt t\u00e4tig war (mit einem kurzem Intermezzo als Marketingmanagerin f\u00fcr Bowmore und Glen Garioch).
\nCara ist in der dritten Generation der Familie Laing t\u00e4tig, welches 1948 von ihrem Gro\u00dfvater Fred Douglas Laing gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Er mischte seinen eigenen Whisky etablierte ein Abf\u00fcllprogramm mit vielen schottischen Destillerien. Douglas Laing besitzt bereits eine Destillerie \u2013 Strathearn in Perthshire, die 2019 erworben wurde und bald durch eine weitere Destillerie (eine neue Anlage im Wert von 10,7 Millionen Pfund in Glasgow) erg\u00e4nzt wird.<\/p>\n
