Destille: Royal Brackla
\n<\/span><\/strong>Royal Brackla, auch kurz Brackla genannt, ist eine Whiskybrennerei in Cawdor, Inverness-shire, Schottland, Gro\u00dfbritannien. Die Brennerei wurde 1812 durch William Fraser gegr\u00fcndet. 1852 \u00fcbernahm Robert Fraser die Destillerie. Um 1860 stiegen Andrew Usher & Co mit ins Gesch\u00e4ft ein – denen nachgesagt wird, dass sie das Blenden von Whisky erfunden haben sollen. 1898 wurde die Brackla Distillery Co Ltd gegr\u00fcndet, welche 1926 von John Bisset & Co \u00fcbernommen wurde. 1943 wurden diese, und damit die Brennerei, von der Distillers Company Limited (DCL) geschluckt, welche die Leitung an ihre Tochter Scottish Malt Distillers (SMD) \u00fcbertrugen. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg diente die Destillerie der Royal Air Force als St\u00fctzpunkt. Von 1965 bis 1966 wurde die Brennerei renoviert und die eigenen Malzb\u00f6den stillgelegt. Die Destillerie wurde 1970 von zwei auf vier Brennblasen erweitert, 1985 komplett stillgelegt und 1991 wiederer\u00f6ffnet. 1998 musste United Distillers (UD) (heute Diageo) die Brennerei an Bacardi verkaufen, um die Auflagen des Kartellamtes zu erf\u00fcllen. Royal Brackla wird heute von der Bacardi-Tochter John Dewar & Sons betrieben, zu denen 5 weitere schottische Destillerien geh\u00f6ren. J\u00e4hrliche Produktionskapazit\u00e4t: ca. 4,1 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:<\/strong> K\u00f6niglich… Seit 1835 darf Brackla, als erste Destillerie \u00fcberhaupt, das ihr von K\u00f6nig William IV. verliehene Royal im Namen tragen! Welch gro\u00dfe Ehre, denn aktuell gibt es nur 2 weitere Destillerien, die ebenfalls ein Royal offiziell im Namen nutzen d\u00fcrfen… Royal Lochnagar und Glenury Royal.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: The Octave 2011\/2022<\/strong>
\nDer unabh\u00e4ngige Abf\u00fcller Duncan Taylor bietet seit Jahren in seiner \u201eThe Octave Serie\u201c Whiskys an, die einer besonderen Nachreifung unterzogen wurden: In sehr kleinen F\u00e4ssern mit rund 50 Liter Inhalt, den sogenannten Octaves, bekommt der zuvor in anderen F\u00e4ssern gereifte Single Malt ein langes Finish, inklusive einer aromatischen Abrundung.
\nDer hier angebotene The Octave Brackla 2011\/2022 wurde stark limitiert abgef\u00fcllt. Aus Gerste und Wasser entsteht dieser leckere Whisky. Ganz ohne Rauch schmiegt sich dieser Whisky an den Gaumen. Die 53,9% Vol. schenken dem Single Malt Whisky seine Kraft. Bei diesem Whisky wurde nicht nachgeholfen. Die nat\u00fcrliche Farbe kam nur \u00fcber die Fassreifung zustande. 2011 hatte die Brennerei einen guten Lauf \u2013 besonders, wenn man sich diese Jahrgangsabf\u00fcllung zu Gem\u00fcte f\u00fchrt. Die Reifezeit betrug von daher sch\u00f6ne 11 Jahre. Dem langen Kontakt mit dem Holz ist es zu verdanken, dass der Royal Brackla so sch\u00f6ne Aromen aufweist.<\/p>\n

\nDuncan Taylor & Co ist ein unabh\u00e4ngiger Abf\u00fcller mit Hauptsitz in der Marktstadt Huntly in Aberdeenshire. Das Unternehmen ist vor allem f\u00fcr seine Black Bull-Reihe von Blended Scotch Whiskys mit hohem Malzgehalt und f\u00fcr Smokin’, eine Mischung aus getorften Islay-, Speyside- und Grain-Whiskys, bekannt. Dar\u00fcber hinaus werden Malts in verschiedenen Sortimenten abgef\u00fcllt, darunter Rarest of the Rare und Whiskys aus \u00ab\u00a0verlorenen\u00a0\u00bb Destillerien. Eines der erfolgreichsten Projekte des Unternehmens in j\u00fcngster Zeit war die Einf\u00fchrung der Octave-Abf\u00fcllungen \u2013 gereifte Single Malt und Grain Whiskys, die f\u00fcr eine zweite Periode in Oktavf\u00e4ssern der Gr\u00f6\u00dfe von einem Achtel gereift sind, um ein breiteres Charakterprofil zu erreichen – ohne die urspr\u00fcngliche Natur des Whiskys zu verschleiern.<\/p>\n
