Die Lage der Brennerei direkt an der K\u00fcste von auf Hokkaido ist kein Zufall. Das raue Klima soll den schottischen Bedingungen \u00e4hnlich sein und den besonderen Charakter des Yoichi Single Malts unterstreichen. Die Yoichi geh\u00f6rt gemeinsam mit der Miyagikyo-Brennerei zur bekannten japanischen Whisky-Marke Nikka. Die Whiskys von Nikka sind f\u00fcr ihre Vielfalt bekannt. Das Portfolio besteht aus Blends, Blended Malts, sogenannten Coffey Whiskey sowie japanischen Single Malts. Bekannte Abf\u00fcllungen sind der Nikka from the Barrel sowie der Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt \u2013 ein Blend aus Miyagikyo- und Yoichi-Malts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun fact:\u00a0<\/strong>Schottland als Vorbild&#8230; Der junge Masataka Taketsuru fand seine Faszination f\u00fcr die Kunst der Whiskey Brennerei auf einer Schottlandreise. Seine Eltern betrieben einst eine Sake Brauerei &#8211; in alter Familientradition, die er nicht mehr nachkommen wollte. Fasziniert von der schottischen Brennerei, entschloss er sich 1920 einen neuen Weg einzuschlagen und produzierte seinen ersten eigenen Whiskey &#8211; den Nikka Yoichi Whisky. F\u00fcr den Ort Yoichi entschied er sich auf Grund einer sich Schottland \u00e4hnelnden Umweltsituation. K\u00fcstenn\u00e4he und ortstypische Flora beg\u00fcnstigten den Geschmack des Single Malt Whiskys.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Yoichi Single Malt Whisky<\/strong><br \/>\nDieser Single Malt bringt kr\u00e4ftigere Noten sowie etwas Rauch mit sich. Er ist der Lead-Malt der Nikka Blended-Industrie, der den vollen K\u00f6rper und die W\u00fcrze einbringt. Der Nikka Yoichi entwickelt, neben den reifen Fruchtnoten und der Vanille, eine maritime Note. Der neueste Yoichi Single Malt wird sowohl die vorherige NAS-Version als auch die restlichen Whiskys mit Altersangabe ersetzen.<br \/>\nVerkostungsnotiz des Herstellers:<br \/>\nNase: Vollmundig, weich. Ein weicher Torf umh\u00fcllt die aromatische Palette zun\u00e4chst sanft und wird mit der Zeit immer kr\u00e4ftiger, w\u00e4hrend Rauch, Ru\u00df und salzige Noten die anf\u00e4ngliche Nase transzendieren. Die Aromen entwickeln sich dann in Richtung kandierter Zitrusfr\u00fcchte (Zitrone, Orange), schwarzer Lakritze und Gew\u00fcrze (Muskatnuss, Ingwer) und \u00f6ffnen sich mit Aromen von Wurzeln und getrockneten Zweigen.<br \/>\nGeschmack: Fest, kraftvoll. Ein ausgewogener Auftakt verteilt Aromen von Torf, Rauch, Gew\u00fcrzen, frischen Fr\u00fcchten (Melone, Kiwi) und N\u00fcssen (Mandeln, Nussbaum), die es in H\u00fclle und F\u00fclle liefert. Am Gaumen beginnt er mit Schokoladennoten, aber schon bald \u00fcbernimmt der Torf wieder die F\u00fchrung.<br \/>\nAbgang: Lang, seidig. Er ist extrem reif und quillt \u00fcber vor reifen Fr\u00fcchten (Birne, Mirabelle, Apfel). Der Torf nimmt einen kr\u00e4utrigen und malzigen Charakter an, w\u00e4hrend die salzigen Aromen dem Abgang viel Tiefe und K\u00fcstenfrische verleihen.
