Im Jahr 2014 begann die Idee f\u00fcr eine Destillerie zu reifen und nach einem guten Jahr konnte die Er\u00f6ffnung gefeiert werden. Seit 150 Jahren er\u00f6ffnete die erste Destillerie im County Mayo ihre Pforten. Die Destillerie steht etwas au\u00dferhalb im sch\u00f6nen \u00d6rtchen Ballina in der N\u00e4he von Sligo. Die Gr\u00fcnder der Connacht Destillerie sind Iren und Amerikaner mit irischen Wurzeln. Rob Cassell ist der Master Distiller der Destillerie, f\u00fcr ihn ist der besondere Unterschied zu den gro\u00dfen Destillerien, dass Connacht nur in kleinen Chargen produzieren wird. Er liegt viel Wert auf komplexe, gut trinkbare Produkten, mit einem qualitativ hochwertigen, einzigartigen Aromenprofil.<br \/>\nDerzeit werden in Connacht zweifach und dreifach destillierter Single Malt Whiskey hergestellt. Alle F\u00e4sser reifen direkt neben der Destillerie. Die Destillerie verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber drei kupferne Pot Stills, auf denen zweifach- und dreifach gebrannter Single Malt Whiskey hergestellt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong>4 Freunde&#8230; Die Connacht Whiskey Company Ltd. ist das Ergebnis eines Traums von vier M\u00e4nnern \u2013 drei Amerikanern und einem Iren. David Stapleton kommt aus Galway und hat dort als Engineering gearbeitet, sein Cousin PJ Stapleton kommt aus Pennsylvania in den USA und arbeitet dort als Anwalt. Tom Jensen ist ein weiterer Eigent\u00fcmer der Destillerie und Spirituosenprofi, er hat viele Jahre f\u00fcr Remy Cointreau in den USA gearbeitet und kennt sich in der Branche sehr gut aus. Rob Cassell ist der Master Destiller der Destillerie.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Connacht Batch 1<br \/>\n<\/strong>Es ist soweit, der erste Whiskey aus der Connacht Distillery. 150 Jahre ist es her, dass es einen Whiskey aus dem County Mayo gab. Die Connacht Distillery begann im Jahr 2016 mit der Destillation ihres Single Malt Whiskeys. Zur Destillation ihrer Whiskeys verwenden sie nur irische Gerste aus dem County Wexford. Hier arbeiten sie mit lokalen Bauern zusammen, die die Gerste f\u00fcr die Destillerie anbauen.Connacht Whiskey Batch 1 ist ein 2-fach gebrannter Single Malt Whiskey, der in kupfernen Pot Stills des kanadischen Anlagenherstellers Specific destilliert wurde. Nachdem der Whiskey fast vier Jahre in ehemaligen Bourbon-F\u00e4ssern reifte, wurden die besten F\u00e4sser ausgew\u00e4hlt und anschlie\u00dfend in 500-Liter fassenden Sherry-F\u00e4ssern gefinisht. Anschlie\u00dfend erfolgte eine weitere Selektion der geeignetsten F\u00e4sser, aus denen final das Batch 1 geblendet wurde.
