Destille: Dailuaine Distillery
\n<\/strong>Der Name Dailuaine leitet sich vom g\u00e4lischen \u00ab\u00a0An dail uaine\u00a0\u00bb ab, was \u00ab\u00a0gr\u00fcnes Tal\u00a0\u00bb bedeutet. Gegr\u00fcndet wurde diese Brennerei im Jahr 1852 von William Mackenzie. Wenn man den idyllischen Standort der Brennerei im geschwungenen Tal des Flusses Spey bedenkt, ist die Wahl des Namens recht einleuchtend. Das Wasser f\u00fcr Dailuaine stammt vom Bailliemullich Burn, der an der Brennerei vorbei flie\u00dft. Single Malt Abf\u00fcllungen von der landschaftlich sch\u00f6n gelegenen Speyside-Brennerei Dailuaine gibt es nur wenige. Die Brennerei bringt nur eine Handvoll offizieller Abf\u00fcllungen \u00fcber die Flora & Fauna-Serie und hin und wieder in der \u00ab\u00a0Manager’s Drams\u00a0\u00bb-Reihe heraus. Es gibt mittlerweile mehr unabh\u00e4ngige Abf\u00fcllungen, wobei Gordon & MacPhail hier den wichtigsten Abf\u00fcller darstellt. Nur ca. zwei Prozent des produzierten Whiskys werden als Single Malt vermarktet, der Rest wird f\u00fcr den Blended Whisky Johnnie Walker verwendet. Seit Dailuaine 1987 von United Destillers (heute Diageo) \u00fcbernommen wurde, erh\u00f6hte die Brennerei ihren j\u00e4hrlichen Aussto\u00df von 2,75 Millionen Litern im Jahr 1991 auf heute 3,3 Millionen Liter. Im Jahr 2013 investierte Diageo 6 Millionen Pfund in eine hochmoderne Bioenergieanlage in der Brennerei.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong>1889 wurde Dailuaine, damals eine der gr\u00f6\u00dften Destillen der Highlands, als erste Brennerei mit einem von Charles Doig entworfenen \u00ab\u00a0Pagoden-Dach\u00a0\u00bb ausgestattet. Viele andere Brennereien folgten diesem Beispiel, u.a. Aberlour, Ardbeg und Benriach. Dieses architektonische Juwel zielte darauf ab die bestehenden Standards f\u00fcr die Ableitung des Torfrauchs erheblich zu verbessern.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: 12yo SMoS (Elixir Distillers)
\n<\/strong>Der Dailuaine 12 years ist ein Single Cask Whisky, der exklusiv f\u00fcr DrankDozijn herausgebracht wurde. Die Destillation erfolgte am 5. Oktober 2009, bevor dieser Whisky seine 12 Jahre lange Reifezeit begann. Diese Reifezeit erfolgte vollst\u00e4ndig in einem einzigen Hogshead (Cak No. 787), bevor der Whisky am 2. September 2022 abgef\u00fcllt wurde. Limitiert auf nur 198 Flaschen mit 54,7 % alc. vol.!! Whisky-Experten-Verkoster vernehmen hier Akzente von Fr\u00fcchten, S\u00fc\u00dfem, Vanille, Malz, N\u00fcssen und ein Hauch Gew\u00fcrze begegnen Ihnen unter anderem in diesem Whisky.<\/p>\n

Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:\u00a0<\/strong>Der Unabh\u00e4ngige Abf\u00fcller Elixir Distillers ist einer der f\u00fchrende Anbieter von Whiskys und Spirituosen.
