Es gilt als sicher, dass seit dem 17. Jahrhundert um die 200 Segelschiffe gestrandet sind. Die geladenen G\u00fcter wie Wein, Rum, Speck, Whisky und Kaffee, stellten eine Abwechslung zum kargen Inselalltag dar. Gerade die F\u00e4sser mit Rum oder Whisky, angesp\u00fclt am langen Sandstrand von Sylt, waren ein willkommenes Treibgut. Gelagert wurden die F\u00e4sser, meist eingegraben und vor Regen gesch\u00fctzt, im D\u00fcnensand. Die Leidenschaft f\u00fcr hochprozentige Produkte ist geblieben und so haben sich vier Unternehmer am Sitz der alteingesessenen Sylter Familie Petersen vorgenommen, ein Kontor direkt am Deich in Rantum aufzubauen. Um den h\u00f6chsten Anspr\u00fcchen in der Destillerie gerecht zu werden, arbeiten sie ausschlie\u00dflich mit ausgew\u00e4hlten internationalen Partnern und nutzen somit das Fachwissen dieser Spezialisten. Die erste Whisky Kreation war ein eigener limitierter Single-Malt-Whisky, der in ausgew\u00e4hlten Sherry F\u00e4ssern reift und direkt im Kontor in Rantum auf Sylt lagerte.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fact: <\/strong>Sylt Distillers haben die n\u00f6rdlichste Whisky Brennerei Deutschlands.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: TRADER Fass 32 PX<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Absolute Rarit\u00e4ten Alarm bei den beiden Trader Whiskys von den Sylter Distillers. Der TRADER Fass 32 PX wurde 2014 destilliert und durfte bis Ende 2019 im 1st Fill PX Fass (110l) reifen. Die kleinen F\u00e4sser (110 Liter) stammen noch aus der Startphase der Sylt Distillers, um schnell eine gute Reifung bei den Whiskys zu erlangen. Das Fass mit der Nr. 32 stammt direkt aus der Gr\u00fcndungszeit der Sylt Ditillers. Die F\u00e4sser Nr. 32 und 34 sind sehr intensiv und beliebt bei den Sherry-Cask-Fans. Durch das PX, Sylt Distillers nutzen auch Oloroso Cask, sind diese Abf\u00fcllungen deutlich weicher, fruchtiger und s\u00fc\u00dfer. Es handelt sich bei beiden Flaschen von den Syltern um absolute Einzelst\u00fccke, die uns die Jungs f\u00fcr diese Auction zur Verf\u00fcgung gestellt haben und die noch im Lager waren.
