Die Urspr\u00fcnge der Highland Park Destillerie sind, wie so oft, \u00ab\u00a0Wolken aus Halbwahrheit und Whisky-Mythen\u00a0\u00bb. Es ist bis heute nicht ganz klar ob Highland Park vom ber\u00fchmten Priester und Schmuggler Magnus Eunson oder vom Farmer David Robertson gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Fakt ist, dass das reich verzierte, schmiedeeiserne Tor der Brennerei auf eine Geschichte von 1798 hinweist. Fakt ist auch, dass sie 1826 eine erste offizielle Lizenz zum Destillieren von Whisky bekamen. Highland Distillers \u00fcbernahmen 1937 die volle Kontrolle am Unternehmen, sodass Highland Park heute Teil der Edrington Group ist. Der Name der Brennerei bezieht sich nicht auf die schottischen Highlands, sondern auf die Tatsache, dass die Brennerei auf einem Gebiet namens \u00ab\u00a0High Park\u00a0\u00bb gegr\u00fcndet wurde, das sich von einem niedrigeren Gebiet in der N\u00e4he unterscheidet. Aktuelles j\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 2,5 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt: <\/strong>Highland Park Distillery ist die zweitn\u00f6rdlichste Single Malt Scotch Whisky Destillerie in Schottland (Kimbland Destillerie auf Sanday liegt 22 Meilen weiter n\u00f6rdlich).<strong><br \/>\nFun fact No.2: <\/strong>Sollte der oben beschriebene Mythos stimmen, dass Magnus Eunson Highland Park gegr\u00fcndet hat, dann ist dieser Eunson tags\u00fcber ein Metzger und Kirchenbeamte gewesen, der sich Nachts zu einem illegalen Destillateur &amp; Whiskyschmuggler \u00ab\u00a0verwandelt\u00a0\u00bb hat. 1798 wurde er beim illegalen Destillieren von Whisky auf dem heutigen Gel\u00e4nde erwischt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Orkney Rowing Club<br \/>\n<\/strong>Vor vielen Jahrhunderten pfl\u00fcgten die Ruderer der Wikinger ihre Langboote auf der Suche nach neuen L\u00e4ndern durch Tausende von Seemeilen des Ozeans. Der Orkney Rowing Club segelt heute nicht mehr ganz so weit, aber Teamwork steht immer noch im Mittelpunkt.<br \/>\nDer 2014 gegr\u00fcndete Club verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber f\u00fcnf traditionelle Boote und rund 40 Mitglieder, die jedes Jahr erhebliche Spenden sammeln, um lokale Wohlt\u00e4tigkeitsorganisationen zu unterst\u00fctzen.<br \/>\nOrkney Rowing Club wird zu 58% in Flaschen abgef\u00fcllt, um einen kr\u00e4ftigen und intensiven Single Malt Whisky zu liefern, der die S\u00fc\u00dfe von Honig und Vanille mit dem Feuer von Ingwerwurzel ausbalanciert, getragen von einer Welle von aromatischem Torfrauch.
