Campbeltown verf\u00fcgte fr\u00fcher \u00fcber mehr als 30 Brennereien, von denen bis heute \u2013 neben Glen Scotia \u2013 nur noch die Springbank-Destillerie und Glengyle \u00fcbrig geblieben sind.<\/span> Das Wasser f\u00fcr die Produktion bezieht die Destille aus dem See \u00ab\u00a0Crosshill Loch\u00a0\u00bb, der ca. 2km entfernt vor den Toren der Stadt liegt. Glen Scotia kommt auf ein Produktionsvolumen von 750.000 l im Jahr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt: <\/strong>Als \u00dcberlebender einiger der turbulentesten Zeiten in der Geschichte der <span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Whisky<\/span>&#8211;<span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Produktion<\/span>, hat Glen Scotia einiges durchmachen m\u00fcssen. Es wird erz\u00e4hlt, dass die <span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Brennerei<\/span> von dem Gespenst Duncan McCallums, einer seiner ehemaligen Besitzer, heimgesucht wird. McCallum ertr\u00e4nkte sich im Campbeltown Loch, nachdem er durch ein geplatztes Gesch\u00e4ft ruiniert worden war. Die Galbraith-Familie gr\u00fcndete die <span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Brennerei<\/span> im Jahr 1832 und sie blieb in ihrem Besitz, bis sie 1919 an die West Highland Malt Distillers verkauft wurde. F\u00fcnf Jahre sp\u00e4ter meldete WHMD Konkurs an und die <span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Brennerei<\/span> wurde an Duncan McCallum \u00fcbergeben. Im Jahr 1928 meldete McCallum selbst Konkurs an, da er aufgrund eines rechtswidrigen Gesch\u00e4fts pleite gegangen war. Dies zwang ihn dazu, Glen Scotia zu schlie\u00dfen. McCallum ertr\u00e4nkte sich tragischerweise im Campbell Loch, der als Ironie des Schicksals speziell f\u00fcr den Zweck, den Destillerien in der Stadt <span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Wasser<\/span> zuzuf\u00fchren, angelegt worden war.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Double Cask PX Finish<br \/>\n<\/strong>Glen Scotia Double Cask geh\u00f6rt zur neuen Serie der Brennerei und das PX Finish ist ein wunderbar leicht zu trinkender Campbeltown Single Malt. Zuerst reifte der Whisky in feinsten First-Fill-Bourbonf\u00e4ssern, bevor er bis zu zw\u00f6lf Monate in Pedro Ximenez Sherryf\u00e4ssern veredelt wurde. Dadurch ist der Glen Scotia perfekt ausbalanciert. Durch Verwendung traditioneller Kupferbrennblasen entstehen die f\u00fcr Glen Scotia typischen Frucht- und W\u00fcrzaromen.
