Macallan ist eine Single Malt Scotch Whisky Destillerie in Craigellachie, Moray. Sie ist eine der \u00e4ltesten lizensierten Brennereien Schottlands und geh\u00f6rt als \u201eRolls Royce unter den Malts\u201c heute weltweit zu den bekanntesten Single Malt Whisky Marken. Neben seiner einzigartigen Whiskys hat Macallan im Jahr 2018 eine komplett neue Brennerei von den Architekten von Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners bauen lassen. Ein 140 Millionen Pfund teures Unternehmen, mit 36 Brennblasen (12 Wash Stills und 24 Spirit Stills) und einem besonderen Meisterst\u00fcck: das Dach. Es wurden tausende, einzelne Komponenten wabengleich zusammengesetzt, die sich in f\u00fcnf Kuppeln (mit etwa 14.000 m\u00b2 Rasen bedeckt) \u00fcber die gesamt Anlage schwingen. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 15 Mio. Liter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:<\/strong> Macallan h\u00e4lt den einzigartigen Rekord des \u00ab\u00a0teuersten Whiskys auf der Welt\u00a0\u00bb (Stand Dez. 2022). Bei einer Auktion erzielte der extrem seltene Single Malt \u00ab\u00a01926\u00a0\u00bb den bisherigen Weltrekordpreis von rund 1,7 Millionen Euro. Destilliert wurde die unglaublich kostbare Fl\u00fcssigkeit im Jahr 1926 und 1986 aus dem Macallan-Fass mit der Nummer 263 abgef\u00fcllt \u2013 also erst nach 60-j\u00e4hriger Reifezeit. Vom Label \u00ab\u00a0Fine & Rare\u00a0\u00bb wurden beim Macallan 1926 nur 14 Flaschen insgesamt abgef\u00fcllt, was die besonders strenge Limitierung dieses Whiskys unterstreicht.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Double Cask 12 yo<\/strong>
\nDer Double Cask reifte komplett in Sherryf\u00e4ssern. Speziell f\u00fcr Macallan wurden amerikanische Eichenf\u00e4sser mit Oloroso-Sherry bef\u00fcllt und anschlie\u00dfend f\u00fcr die Whiskyreifung verwendet. Erg\u00e4nzend zu den amerikanischen Eichenf\u00e4ssern wurden noch klassische Sherryf\u00e4sser aus europ\u00e4ischer Eiche verwendet.
\nLange Zeit war der Double Cask nur in Asien erh\u00e4ltlich – mittlerweile geh\u00f6rt der Whisky zum Stammsortiment von Macallan.<\/p>\n
