Sie liegt in den Bergen \u00f6stlich von Pitlochry und produziert dort ihren unverkennbaren Malt noch mit Verfahren, die bei anderen Brennereien schon l\u00e4ngst der Vergangenheit angeh\u00f6ren. Gerade mal zw\u00f6lf F\u00e4sser die Woche wurden vor 2014 in der Brennerei in einer Woche abgef\u00fcllt. Vielleicht ist genau das der Grund, warum Edradour etwas ganz Besonderes ist. Nach der \u00dcbernahme durch Signatory wurde die Ausbringungsmenge verdoppelt. Es wurde jedoch auch stets darauf geachtet, die Qualit\u00e4t, Tradition und Handarbeit beizubehalten und so einen vollmundigen und intensiven Single Malt zu kreieren. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: 0,5 Mio. Liter.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:<\/strong>\u00a0Ein (Mit)Besitzer von Edradour war mal ein Mafiaboss!!! 1933 verkaufte die Mackintosh-Familie Edradour an William Whiteley. Die Firma von Whiteley hatte w\u00e4hrend der Prohibition mit ihrer King&#8217;s Ransom-Mischung ein solides Gesch\u00e4ft in den USA aufgebaut. Der Mafiaboss Frank Costello ernannte Whiteley seinerzeit zu seinem US-Handelsvertreter. F\u00fcnf Jahre sp\u00e4ter \u00fcbernahm Costellos Partner Irving Haim die Eigent\u00fcmerschaft von Edradour, wobei Costello (und seine Firma) einen Anteil am Umsatz von King&#8217;s Ransom \u00fcbernahmen. Dieses etwas ungew\u00f6hnliche Arrangement dauerte bis zu Haims Tod 1976.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Ballechin The Discovery Series Batch No.8<\/strong><br \/>\nLagerhausfund bei Edradour. Abf\u00fcllung aus dem Jahr 2013!<br \/>\nMit der Discovery Series hat die Edradour-Brennerei aus den Highlands ihren Fans die M\u00f6glichkeit gegeben, den Einfluss verschiedener Fassarten auf ihren getorften Ballechin Whisky zu erleben. Die achte Ausgabe der Serie reifte von 2002 bis 2013 f\u00fcr 11 Jahre in Sauternes Hogsheads. Abgef\u00fcllt hat die Destillerie den stark getorften Single Malt Whisky bei einem Alkoholgehalt von 46,0 Volumenprozent. Er kommt ohne Farbstoff aus und ist nicht k\u00fchlgefiltert. Weltweit gibt es nur 5100 Flaschen des Whiskys zu kaufen!!!<br \/>\nIn die Nase legt sich der Whisky mit kr\u00e4ftigen Rauchnoten. Er bringt zudem Trauben mit und Zitrusfr\u00fcchte. Vanille sorgt f\u00fcr S\u00fc\u00dfe. Heu dringt durch und trifft auf Gew\u00fcrze.<br \/>\nIm Geschmack zeigt sich der Ballechin Discovery Series #8 torfig und holzig auf die Zunge. Der Whisky schmeckt nach Vanille und hellen Trauben. \u00c4pfel dringen durch. N\u00fcsse leiten den Abgang ein.<br \/>\nDer Abgang ist langanhaltend. Der Scotch verabschiedet sich mit Lagerfeuerrauch. Er hinterl\u00e4sst Honig und N\u00fcsse. Kirschen halten nach dem Trinken lange an.
