Destille: Glentauchers
\n<\/strong>Glentauchers Distillery ist eine schottische Whiskybrennerei aus der Speyside. Glentauchers war ein weiteres Mitglied der “1890er Jahre-Bande” und wurde 1898 von James Buchanan & Co. gegr\u00fcndet, um F\u00fcllungen f\u00fcr seine Buchanan’s- und Black & White-Mischungen bereitzustellen. Das heutige Geb\u00e4ude von Glentauchers wurde damals von John Alcock entworfen und von Charles Doig & Son (einer der Architekten der schottischen Whiskywelt) \u00fcberwacht. Glentauchers ist eine der vielen Destillerien, die Anfang der 1980er Jahre unter dem Nachfrageeinbruch litten und 1985 geschlossen wurden. \u00dcberraschend zu der damaligen Zeit wurde Glentauchers 1989 von einem direkten Konkurrenten von Diageo, Allied Distillers, aufgekauft. Daher sind Malts aus dieser Destillerie eher selten und schwierig zu haben. Erst im Jahr 2000 wurde eine offizielle Abf\u00fcllung (ein 15 Jahre alter Whisky) ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Aktuelles j\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: 4,5 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt: <\/strong>Glentauchers geh\u00f6rte auch zu den Destillerien, die das entstehende Schienennetz rund um Schottland nutzten und ihre eigenen spezifischen Eisenbahnanschl\u00fcsse in die Brennerei bauten. Der “Weiler Tauchers” wurde bis 1964 vom Bahnhof “Tauchers Platform” bedient, wobei zeitweise auch ein eigenes G\u00fctergleis direkt zur Brennerei f\u00fchrte. Quasi ein eigener Bahnhof, mit eigenen Schienen direkt in der Brennerei… wie praktisch!

Whisky\/Whiskey: 1991 \/ 2007 (Gordon & MacPhail)
\n<\/strong>Aus der sehr seltenen Bottle-Series “Distillery Labels” von Gordon & MacPhail kommt dieser tolle Glentauchers. Abgef\u00fcllt 1991 (!) und bottled in 2007… 16 Jahre Reifung haben ihre Spuren hinterlassen! Laut Gordon & MacPhail soll er anfangs s\u00fc\u00df, mit Birnenzimt- und Kardamonnoten sein und dann am Gaumen mit Chiliw\u00fcrze, s\u00fc\u00dfen Sommerbeeren und cremigem Milchschokoladenrand gl\u00e4nzen.<\/p>\n

Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:<\/strong> Gordon & MacPhail ist ein unabh\u00e4ngiger Abf\u00fcller und Destillateur von Scotch Whisky, gegr\u00fcndet 1895 mit Sitz in Elgin im Nordosten Schottlands. Es ist ein Familienunternehmen im Besitz der Familie Urquhart. G&M f\u00fcllt seit \u00fcber 115 Jahren Single Malt Whiskys ab, aus rund 70 Destillerien und mit \u00fcber 350 verschiedene Kreationen des Whiskys.<\/div>\n
