Sie liegt in den Bergen \u00f6stlich von Pitlochry und produziert dort ihren unverkennbaren Malt noch mit Verfahren, die bei anderen Brennereien schon l\u00e4ngst der Vergangenheit angeh\u00f6ren. Gerade mal zw\u00f6lf F\u00e4sser die Woche wurden vor 2014 in der Brennerei in einer Woche abgef\u00fcllt. Vielleicht ist genau das der Grund, warum Edradour etwas ganz Besonderes ist. Nach der \u00dcbernahme durch Signatory wurde die Ausbringungsmenge verdoppelt. Es wurde jedoch auch stets darauf geachtet, die Qualit\u00e4t, Tradition und Handarbeit beizubehalten und so einen vollmundigen und intensiven Single Malt zu kreieren. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: 0,5 Mio. Liter.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:<\/strong>\u00a0Ein (Mit)Besitzer von Edradour war mal ein Mafiaboss!!! 1933 verkaufte die Mackintosh-Familie Edradour an William Whiteley. Die Firma von Whiteley hatte w\u00e4hrend der Prohibition mit ihrer King&#8217;s Ransom-Mischung ein solides Gesch\u00e4ft in den USA aufgebaut. Der Mafiaboss Frank Costello ernannte Whiteley seinerzeit zu seinem US-Handelsvertreter. F\u00fcnf Jahre sp\u00e4ter \u00fcbernahm Costellos Partner Irving Haim die Eigent\u00fcmerschaft von Edradour, wobei Costello (und seine Firma) einen Anteil am Umsatz von King&#8217;s Ransom \u00fcbernahmen. Dieses etwas ungew\u00f6hnliche Arrangement dauerte bis zu Haims Tod 1976.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Ballechin Horseman No.2 10yo 2013\/2023<\/strong><br \/>\nUnter dem Namen Ballechin f\u00fcllt die Brennerei Edradour ihre rauchigen Single Malts ab. Der Ballechin 2013\/2023 ist die zweite Komposition der neuen Horseman Serie. Mit starker Bildsprache \u00fcberbringen die Horsemen, die vier Reiter der Apokalypse, sowie die Archangels, das Erzengel-Quartett, ihre Prophezeiung: fassstarken Hochgenuss. F\u00fcr diesen greifen die Abf\u00fcllungen auf den an Umfang geradezu biblischen Holzschatz von Signatory Vintage zur\u00fcck. Der Horseman No.2 reifte 10 Jahre in zwei First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts. Das aufwendige Design der Small Batch Serie wurde von Tom Thiel gestaltet, der schon CD-Cover f\u00fcr bekannte Musikbands wie Amon Amarth gestaltete oder grafische Konzepte f\u00fcr Ravensburger umsetzte. Die limitierte Edition wird nicht gef\u00e4rbt, nicht k\u00fchlgefiltert und in Fassst\u00e4rke abgef\u00fcllt. Bottle No.1231 von nur 1378 Flaschen!!!<br \/>\n<strong>Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:<\/strong> Signatory Vintage Scotch Whisky wurde 1988 von Andrew Symington gegr\u00fcndet, der zuvor das renommierte Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh geleitet hatte. Das erste Fass, das von Symington in Flaschen abgef\u00fcllt wurde, war ein 1968 in Sherryf\u00e4ssern gereifter Glenlivet. Im Jahr 2002 erwarb Signatory die Destillerie Edradour von Pernod Ricard und verlegte anschlie\u00dfend alle seine Aktivit\u00e4ten nach Norden in den malerischen Standort Perthshire.
