Die Urspr\u00fcnge der Highland Park Destillerie sind, wie so oft, &#8220;Wolken aus Halbwahrheit und Whisky-Mythen&#8221;. Es ist bis heute nicht ganz klar ob Highland Park vom ber\u00fchmten Priester und Schmuggler Magnus Eunson oder vom Farmer David Robertson gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Fakt ist, dass das reich verzierte, schmiedeeiserne Tor der Brennerei auf eine Geschichte von 1798 hinweist. Fakt ist auch, dass sie 1826 eine erste offizielle Lizenz zum Destillieren von Whisky bekamen. Highland Distillers \u00fcbernahmen 1937 die volle Kontrolle am Unternehmen, sodass Highland Park heute Teil der Edrington Group ist. Der Name der Brennerei bezieht sich nicht auf die schottischen Highlands, sondern auf die Tatsache, dass die Brennerei auf einem Gebiet namens &#8220;High Park&#8221; gegr\u00fcndet wurde, das sich von einem niedrigeren Gebiet in der N\u00e4he unterscheidet. Aktuelles j\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 2,5 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt: <\/strong>Highland Park Distillery ist die zweitn\u00f6rdlichste Single Malt Scotch Whisky Destillerie in Schottland (Kimbland Destillerie auf Sanday liegt 22 Meilen weiter n\u00f6rdlich).<strong><br \/>\nFun fact No.2: <\/strong>Sollte der oben beschriebene Mythos stimmen, dass Magnus Eunson Highland Park gegr\u00fcndet hat, dann ist dieser Eunson tags\u00fcber ein Metzger und Kirchenbeamte gewesen, der sich Nachts zu einem illegalen Destillateur &amp; Whiskyschmuggler &#8220;verwandelt&#8221; hat. 1798 wurde er beim illegalen Destillieren von Whisky auf dem heutigen Gel\u00e4nde erwischt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: 14<\/strong><strong>yo Loyalty of the Wolf<br \/>\n<\/strong>Der 14-j\u00e4hrige Highland Park Loyalty of the Wolf Single Malt hat durch zweierlei Fassreifung einen besonders komplexen und s\u00fc\u00dfen Charakter erhalten. Die Travel Retail Serie der Highland Park Whiskys wurde von den verschiedenen Wildtieren inspiriert, die f\u00fcr die Wikinger von gro\u00dfer Bedeutung waren. W\u00f6lfe wurden vor allem f\u00fcr ihren gro\u00dfen Willen geachtet, ihre Familie und ihr Territorium zu sch\u00fctzen. Mit dem Single Malt erweitert die auf der Insel Orkney angesiedelte TOP Destillerie ihr Duty Free Sortiment. Daher findet man diesen in Ex-Bourbon, sowie exquisiten Sherry F\u00e4ssern gereiften Scotch auch nicht in Standardsortiment der Brennerei.
