Boann ist ein Familienunternehmen mit 300 Millionen EUR Jahresumsatz. Benannt wurde die Brennerei nach der irischen G\u00f6ttin Boann, die den Fluss Boyne geschaffen haben soll. <\/span>Jeder\u00a0in der Boann Distillery verwendete Rohstoff ist zu 100% nat\u00fcrlich und 100% regional. Das Wasser stammt aus der eigenen Quelle im Boyne Valley. Die Gerste wird von den einheimischen Farmern geliefert. Die Destillerie betreibt ein System mit geschlossenem Wasserkreislauf, bei dem alles eingesetzte Wasser recycelt und Energieverluste minimiert werden. Die Abw\u00e4rme wird genutzt um das Restaurant, das Besucherzentrum und die B\u00fcros zu heizen. Regenwasser wird gesammelt, um den Einfluss auf die Umwelt zu minimieren. Alle proteinreichen Nebenprodukte der Destillation werden als Viehfutter weiterverwendet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong>John McDougall ist ein international anerkannter Master Distiller und Berater der Boann Distillery. Diese limitierte Edition vereint handwerkliche Pr\u00e4zision, kreative Fassreifung und die Intensit\u00e4t einer Fassst\u00e4rke-Abf\u00fcllung.<br \/>\nDer Single Cask reifte zun\u00e4chst 9 Jahre lang in klassischen Ex\u2011Bourbonf\u00e4ssern, bevor er f\u00fcr rund 10 Monate in ehemaligen franz\u00f6sischen Bordeaux-Weinf\u00e4ssern \u2013 genauer gesagt Premier Cru Class\u00e9 \u2013 veredelt wurde. Diese zus\u00e4tzliche Reifung bringt eine elegante, weinbetonte Komplexit\u00e4t in den Whisky und hebt ihn deutlich von traditionellen Irish Whiskeys ab.<br \/>\nAbgef\u00fcllt wurde der Whisky ungefiltert und in Fassst\u00e4rke mit kr\u00e4ftigen 59,5\u202f% vol., was ihm eine besonders intensive und unverf\u00e4lschte Aromatik verleiht. Die Gesamtauflage ist streng limitiert \u2013 lediglich etwa 294 einzeln nummerierte Flaschen existieren, was ihn f\u00fcr Sammler und Liebhaber gleicherma\u00dfen interessant macht.<br \/>\nBereits im Glas zeigt sich der Whisky in einer hellen Bernsteinfarbe.
