Ardbeg ist aktuell eine von insgesamt 9 Whiskydestillerien auf der Insel Islay in Schottland. Sie befindet sich am S\u00fcdufer der Insel, direkt neben Port Ellen und ist gegenw\u00e4rtig im Besitz von Mo\u00ebt Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Die Urspr\u00fcnge der Brennerei reichen bis in das Jahr 1794 zur\u00fcck. Zu dieser Zeit wurde Ardbeg von Schwarzbrennern und Schmugglern betrieben, bis diese die Produktion in der Illegalit\u00e4t nach einer Razzia der Zollfahndung aufgeben mussten. Aktuell hat Ardbeg ein Produktionsvolumen von ca. 2,4 Mio. Litern.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun fact:<\/strong> Anders als die meisten Destillerien, die eine Katze beherbergen, hatte die Brennerei einen Destilleriehund: Shortie, einen Jack Russell Terrier. Shortie ist aber inzwischen in seinem wohlverdienten Ruhestand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Ardcore<\/strong><br \/>\nDer Ardcore wurde f\u00fcr den Ardbeg Day 2022 abgef\u00fcllt. Aus einer Destillerie mit mehr H\u00f6hen und Tiefen als ein Dax Unternehmen, wird dieser Whisky aus ger\u00f6stetem schwarzem Malz hergestellt. Er wird EXTREM ger\u00f6stet&#8230; Das Malz ist das, was dem Ardcore sein unverwechselbares Profil gibt, welches u.a. &#8220;schmeckt, als w\u00fcrde man auf einen stacheligen Ball bei\u00dfen&#8221; oder &#8220;es ist ein Dram, der sein schwarzes Herz auf der Zunge tr\u00e4gt&#8221;.<br \/>\nNoten von Holzkohle und s\u00fc\u00dfem Rauch sorgen f\u00fcr einen intensiven Geruch.
