Die alte Hammerschmiede, welche heute einen Teil der Whiskyf\u00e4sser beherbergt, wurde zwischen 1250 und 1270 von M\u00f6nchen und deren Gehilfen aus dem nahen Kloster Walkenried erbaut und geh\u00f6rte bis 1593 zu den Besitzt\u00fcmern des Klosters. 1895 wechselte die Hammerschmiede in den Besitz der Betreiberfamilie der heutigen Manufaktur. An diesem Ort begann auch die Geschichte des Harzer Single Malts mit den ersten Fassf\u00fcllungen im Jahr 2002. Seit 2007 ist der GlenEls\/ElsBurn im Malt Whisky Yearbook j\u00e4hrlich vertreten. Es folgten Mehrfach-Auszeichnungen in Gold bei den World Whisky Awards, Liquid Gold Awards und eine Platzierung unter den Top-20-Brennereien weltweit bei den 2019 World-Whisky-Awards. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 30.000 Liter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:<\/strong> 2019 &#8220;registrierte&#8221; man auch in Schottland, dass die Harzer einen super tollen Whisky brennen k\u00f6nnen. So gut, dass man die &#8220;kleine&#8221; Destille verklagte, weil sie im Namen das Wort &#8220;Glen&#8221; hatte. Da aber Glen ein &#8220;Kulturgut&#8221; der schottischen Whiskygesellschaft darstellt, untersagte man den Harzern mit Hilfe eines Urteils des Oberlandesgerichtes Hamburg den Namensbestandteil Glen. Dadurch erfolgte notgedrungen die Umbenennung in das heutige ElsBurn. Hat dem Erfolg und der Qualit\u00e4t des Harzer Whiskys aber absolut nicht geschadet!!!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Elsburn Amarone Cask Batch 1<br \/>\n<\/strong>F\u00fcr diesen Elsburn aus der Hammerschmiede Brennerei wurden ausschlie\u00dflich italienische Amarone Rotweinf\u00e4sser verwendet. Diese wurden zuvor f\u00fcr mindestens f\u00fcnf Jahre in der Valpolicella Region zur Reifung von Amarone eingesetzt. Wie bei der Harzer Destille \u00fcblich, handgefiltert und hier wurde weder mit Farbstoff nachgeholfen, noch wurde dieser hochwertige Single Malt k\u00e4ltefiltriert. Limitiert auf 1.632 Flaschen &#8211; eine echte Rarit\u00e4t aus dem Harz!
