Die Brennerei wurde 1898 von John Duff erbaut, musste allerdings, bis auf die M\u00e4lzerei, die u. a. Longmorn versorgte, schon 1900 wieder schlie\u00dfen. Nach einer Wieder\u00f6ffnung durch Glenlivet Distillers Ltd. ging Benriach 2001 an Pernod Ricard, die erst die Produktion drosselten, dann die Brennerei nur 3 Monate im Jahr betrieben und sie schlie\u00dflich im August 2002 ganz stilllegten. Im April 2004 kauften Billy Walker, Geoff Bell und Wayne Keiswetter die Brennerei, die seitdem wieder im Normalbetrieb l\u00e4uft. Zur Benriach Distillery Co. Ltd. geh\u00f6rt seit 2008 auch Glendronach und seit 2013 Glenglassaugh. 2016 wurde die Benriach Distillery Co. Ltd. f\u00fcr 285 Millionen Pfund Sterling von dem US-amerikanischen Konzern Brown-Forman \u00fcbernommen. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 3 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun fact:<\/strong> Benriach kann auf eine aufregende Geschichte blicken&#8230; Zwar wurde die Destillerie vor \u00fcber 125 Jahre gegr\u00fcndet, aber dennoch musste sie schon 2 Jahre nach Er\u00f6ffnung wieder schlie\u00dfen und ganze 65 Jahre (also \u00fcber die H\u00e4lfte ihrer aktuellen Geschichte) im &#8220;Dornr\u00f6schenschlaf&#8221; (von 1899 bis 1965) verbringen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Heart of Speyside<\/strong><br \/>\n<span class=\"b\">Den Namen verdankt die Abf\u00fcllung der Lage der Brennerei. Diese befindet sich zwischen der Stadt Elgin und dem Dorf Rothes im Herzen der schottischen Speyside. Der Benriach Heart of Speyside bringt die Heimatverbundenheit der Brennerei zum Ausdruck. Der Benriach Heart of Speyside ist mit seiner lebhaften Kombination aus Honig, Fr\u00fcchten, Kr\u00e4utern und Gew\u00fcrznoten, sowie mit einem Hauch von Eichenholz einfach zu genie\u00dfen.<\/span>.
