Hier gr\u00fcndeten f\u00fcnf Freunde die erste Craft Brennerei Irlands. Glendalough ist auch f\u00fcr seine Klostersiedlung aus dem 6. Jahrhundert bekannt. Diese wurde von dem M\u00f6nch St. Kevin gegr\u00fcndet, dessen Geschichte und Sagen auch die Brennerei<\/span> Gr\u00fcnder inspirierte und dessen Gestalt daher die Flaschen von Glendalough ziert.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:<\/strong> Die Geschichte von Glendalough geht zur\u00fcck bis ins Jahr 518. Zu dieser Zeit zog sich der Heilige St. Kevin in die irische Wildnis zur\u00fcck, wo er sieben Jahre lebte. Der Legende nach stand er f\u00fcr 13 Tage und 13 N\u00e4chte im Wasser mit Amsel-Eiern in seinen H\u00e4nden bis die K\u00fcken schl\u00fcpften. Weitere 13 Tage harrte er dort aus, bis sie fl\u00fcgge wurden.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Mizunara Cask 7 yo<\/strong>
\nDiese Abf\u00fcllung des irischen Whiskeys reifte zur Hauptreifung f\u00fcr 7 Jahre in ehemaligen amerikanischen Eichen- und Bourbonf\u00e4ssern und anschlie\u00dfend folgte ein Finish f\u00fcr 6 bis 12 Monate in ausgebrannten japanischen Mizunara-Wei\u00dfeiche F\u00e4ssern. Diese F\u00e4sser geben dem Whiskey Noten von dunkler Schokolade, Sandelholz und Zimt. Mizunara Eiche ist sehr rar und kostet mehr als das Zehnfache eines durchschnittlichen Fasses. \u201eMizunara\u201c bedeutet Wassereiche; aufgrund ihrer Feuchtigkeit dauert es drei Jahre, das Holz zu trocknen. Danach ist es sehr schwer zu bearbeiten und so por\u00f6s, dass die F\u00e4sser daraus undichter sind als andere. Doch genau hierin liegt die Kraft dieses Holzes. Ein gr\u00f6\u00dferer Anteil Whiskey gelangt tiefer in das Holz und entnimmt ihm seine wunderbar exotischen Aromen. Mizunara ist daher die vielleicht begehrteste Eiche der Whiskey-Welt.<\/p>\n
