Destille: Glenalba
\n<\/strong>Genau genommen ist Glenalba keine Destillerie, sondern eine Whisky-Marke. Unter dem Namen Glenalba werden ausgew\u00e4hlte Scotch-Blends des deutschen Discounters Lidl vertrieben. Sie bilden neben den Ben Bracken Single Malts, Glen Orchy sowie Queen Margot das Kernsortiment der Lidl-Whiskys. Abgef\u00fcllt werden die Single Malts und Blends meist von Wallace & Young Distillers Co. (Ben Bracken) und Clydesdale (Glenalba und Queen Margot). Bei den Glenalba-Whiskys handelt es sich stets um geblendete Whiskys mit (meist) einem Anteil Grain-Whiskys. Teilweise mit einem Finish in Ex-Sherry-Casks und meist immer mit einem sehr hohe Alter.

Fun Fakt:<\/strong> Auch wenn hier Discounter Lidl (oder auch Aldi) hinter den Marken steht, hei\u00dft dies nicht, dass die Qualit\u00e4t auch Discounter-Niveau hat. Ganz im Gegenteil… Bei den weltbekannten “Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters 2020” gewannen Aldi und Lidl mit ihren Eigenmarken insgesamt acht Goldmedaillen! Zuerst gewann Aldi Gold f\u00fcr seinen “Highland Black 8 Years Old” und “Highland Earl Blended Scotch Whisky”, gefolgt von Lidl mit einer Goldmedaille f\u00fcr seine “Queen Margot 3 Years Old” und einer Silbermedaille f\u00fcr seinen “Glen Orchy 5 Years Old”.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: <\/strong>37yo<\/strong>
\nDer Glenalba 37 Jahre aus dem Jahr 1981 war 2018 nach seiner “Markteinf\u00fchrung” super schnell vergriffen. Es handelt sich um einen Blended Whisky aus Grain & Single Malt Whisky mit einer Nachlagerung in Sherry Casks. Die einzelnen Destillate weisen ein Alter von mindestens 37 Jahren auf. Der hier angebotene Whisky hat die Batchnummer 18\/0491 und ist limitiert auf insgesamt 1.650 Flaschen.
\nSein Aroma beschreibt sich am besten mit “sehr mild, etwas weihnachtlich mit Lebkuchengew\u00fcrz, Milchschokolade und schwarzem Tee”. Sein Geschmack zeichnet sich durch “milde S\u00fc\u00dfe, dazu Karamell, Schokolade und etwas Zimt” aus und im Abgang bietet er “eine ziemliche L\u00e4nge, mit einer samtig, trockenen Zartbitterschokolade, die w\u00fcrzig-scharf daherkommt”.<\/p>\n
