Destille: Fettercairn
\n<\/strong>Fettercairn ist eine Whiskybrennerei in Fettercairn, Aberdeenshire, Schottland. Die Brennerei wurde 1824 von Sir Alexander Ramsay gegr\u00fcndet. Es folgte eine Vielzahl von Besitzerwechseln. Unter den Besitzern war zeitweilig auch der \u00e4ltere Bruder Sir Thomas Gladstone des damaligen britischen Premierminister William Ewart Gladstone. Nach einem Brand wurde die Brennerei zwischen 1887 und 1890 fast komplett neu aufgebaut. 1960 wurden die eigenen Malzb\u00f6den geschlossen und 1966 die Anzahl der Brennblasen von zwei auf vier erh\u00f6ht. Seit 1973 geh\u00f6rt die Destillerie zu Whyte & Mackay, welche 2007 f\u00fcr 595 Millionen \u00a3 von United Spirits Limited, einer Tochter der indischen The UB Group gekauft wurden. 2014 dann der letzte Besitzerwechsel (bis heute) f\u00fcr 430 Millionen \u00a3 an Emperador International Ltd. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: 1,6 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong>Diese traditionelle Destillerie in den Ausl\u00e4ufern der wilden Cairngorm Mountains war einst im Besitz des Vaters eines britischen Premierminister und erhielt als zweite Destillerie \u00fcberhaupt die offizielle Brennlizenz (die erste ging an Glenlivet) in Schottland.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Warehouse 2 Batch 2
\n<\/strong>Fettercairn widmet sich seit 2018 der Erneuerung der Core Range. Mit dem Fettercairn Warehouse 2 wird ein neuer Ableger in diese Richtung pr\u00e4sentiert. 2009 destilliert und ausschlie\u00dflich im Warehouse 2 gelagert. Der Whisky f\u00fcr Batch 2 lagerte zu 38% in 1st Fill ex-Rye und 62% 1st Fill ex-Bourbon Barrels. Diese Abf\u00fcllung pr\u00e4sentiert sich mit einem milden und fast schon tropischen Charakter, den man so von Fettercairn noch nicht kennenlernen durfte. Es wurden lediglich 6000 Flaschen abgef\u00fcllt!!<\/p>\n
