Whisky\/Whiskey: The OA Islay Single Malt Whisky (MNC)
\n<\/strong>Feurig, rauchig, torfig, Islay pur. Seit vielen Jahren die Hausnummer von McNeills. Andy McNeill\u2019s bew\u00e4hrter Standard. Seit \u00fcber 10 Jahren bietet The OA den deutschen Islay-Fans ein kr\u00e4ftiges, feuriges Geschmackserlebnis mit ordentlich ABV, Rauch und Torf. Die Destillerie und genauere Angaben zum Whisky sind geheim und werden nicht preisgegeben.
\nIn der Nase finden sich “R\u00e4ucherspeck, Zitrus, Honigs\u00fc\u00dfe, junger, wilder Alkohol”. Am Gaumen folgt dann “Vollmundigkeit… Nach anf\u00e4nglicher S\u00fc\u00dfe folgt starker Rauch, Meersalz. W\u00fcrzige Zimtnoten. Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller: McNeill’s Choice (MNC)<\/strong>
\nAndy McNeill ist seit Jahrzehnten eine Legende auf den deutschen Whiskymessen \u2013 dank seines Fachwissens und seines Charmes. Ans\u00e4ssig im malerischen Aschaffenburg veranstaltet Andy auch seine eigene Whiskymesse im sch\u00f6nen Schloss Aschaffenburg: Das Whisk(e)y Pur Festival im letzten Quartal jeden Jahres. Der geb\u00fcrtige Schotte spezialisiert sich auf hochklassige, unabh\u00e4ngige Abf\u00fcllungen und hat eine gewisse Schw\u00e4che f\u00fcr Islay-Whiskys. Mit seinem eigenen Label \u201cMcNeill\u2019s Choice\u201d vertreibt Andy handverlesene Whiskys, die in der Regel nach dem Import nach Deutschland von ihm selbst in diversen F\u00e4ssern veredelt werden. Sein Unternehmen Celtic Events wird mittlerweile als Familienbetrieb mit seinem Sohn zusammen gef\u00fchrt und bringt Abf\u00fcllungen der Vintage Malt Whisky Company, vor allem \u201cThe Cooper\u2019s Choice\u201d, nach Deutschland.<\/p>\n
