Destille: Cotswolds
\n<\/strong>Die Cotswolds Distillery wurde 2014 gegr\u00fcndet und liegt im Herzen Englands in der gleichnamigen Region, die zu den Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (zu deutsch \u201eGebiet au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlicher nat\u00fcrlicher Sch\u00f6nheit\u201c) z\u00e4hlt. Cotswolds geh\u00f6rt zu den wenigen englischen Brennereien, die sich auf Single Malt Whisky konzentrieren. Dies ist durchaus eine Besonderheit in England, da es fast 100 Jahre lang keinen landeseigenen Single Malt s\u00fcdlich der schottischen Grenze gab. Neben Whisky produziert Cotswolds u.a. auch Gin und Lik\u00f6r und die Distillery steht f\u00fcr hohe handwerkliche Qualit\u00e4t.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:<\/strong> Der Gr\u00fcnder Daniel Szor w\u00e4hlte den Ort Cotswolds f\u00fcr sein Vorhaben, weil er diesen von Wochenendtrips mit der Familie kannte. Er verliebte sich in diesen sehr urspr\u00fcnglichen Ort mit reicher Vegetation und hegte schon bald den Wunsch die vielen Getreidefelder f\u00fcr die Whiskyproduktion zu nutzen. Mit Recht k\u00f6nnen Daniel und sein Team stolz auf ihre Produkte sein: S\u00e4mtliche Zutaten kommen aus der unmittelbaren N\u00e4he und die M\u00e4lzerei ist nicht einmal eine Stunde mit dem Auto entfernt. Ein Teil der Botanicals f\u00fcr den Cotswolds Gin stammen sogar aus dem eigenen Garten der Brennerei.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Small Batch Release 2015<\/strong>
\nBei dem hier vorgestellten Cotswolds Small Batch Release 2015 handelt es sich um eine Einzelfass Abf\u00fcllung mit stolzen 59,7% Alc.vol. Exklusiv f\u00fcr den deutschen Markt und Kirsch “gebottled” reifte der Single Malt in einem Pedro Xim\u00e9nez Sherry But (amerikanische Eiche). Mit einer stark limitierten Auflage von nur 672 Flaschen weltweit hat dieser Small Batch Whisky ein einzigartiges Obstaroma: “schwarze Kirschen & Johannesbeeren, Pflaumen, Rosinen, brauner Zucker und etwas Zimt”. Anschlie\u00dfend folgt am Gaumen “neben (wieder) Obst etwas Feigen, Datteln, dunkle Schokolade, Weihnachtslebkuchen und wieder Zimt mit Muskatnuss. Der Abgang dann “mittellang, mit s\u00fc\u00dfen Gew\u00fcrzen und Br\u00f6tchen und viel Eiche”.<\/p>\n
