Destille: Jura
\n<\/span><\/strong>Auf der Insel Jura an der Westk\u00fcste Schottlands existiert nur eine einzige Whisky Brennerei, die ‘Isle of Jura’. Die Jura Destillerie befindet sich in der einzigen Stadt auf der Insel, Craighead. Sie produziert eine beeindruckende Menge von 2,5 Millionen Litern Alkohol pro Jahr. Ein gro\u00dfer Teil davon wird als Single Malt Whisky verkauft. Das Wasser, das f\u00fcr die Produktion verwendet wird, stammt aus dem Loch a’Bhaile Mhargaidh, der ebenfalls auf der Insel Jura liegt. Bereits ab 1810 kann f\u00fcr diesen ungew\u00f6hnlichen Standort eine Destillerie nachgewiesen werden, die die Wirren der Zeit aber nicht \u00fcberstand. Charles Mackinlay & Company baute die heutige Destillerie im Jahr 1960 und destillierten im Jahr 1963 zum ersten Mal. Jura bezieht seit 1978 sein Malz aus der Port Ellen M\u00e4lzerei, die sich auf der nahe gelegenen Insel Islay befindet. Das bezogene Malz ist teilweise nicht-rauchig, teilweise stark rauchig, diese Kombination gibt dem Whisky eine gro\u00dfe Geschmacksvielfalt.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt 1:<\/strong> Jura befindet sich sechzig Meilen von der schottischen K\u00fcste entfernt, dies stellt eine gro\u00dfe Schwierigkeit f\u00fcr die Whisky-Produktion dar: Unzug\u00e4nglichkeit. George Orwell beschrieb die Brennerei treffend als “unerreichbar”, in Bezug darauf, wie schwierig es war, zur Destillerie zu gelangen.<\/p>\n

Fun Fact 2:<\/strong> Die Insel Jura ist ein sehr ungew\u00f6hnlicher Ort, denn sie ist wahrscheinlich die einzige Insel der Welt, auf der es mehr Whiskyf\u00e4sser als Menschen gibt.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: 14yo American Rye Cask
\n<\/strong>Der Jura 14yo American Rye Cask wird in einer limitierten Auflage hergestellt. Der Whisky wird in amerikanischen Rye-F\u00e4ssern gereift, die einzigartige Aromen und Geschmacksnoten hervorbringen. Der Whisky hat eine goldene Farbe und ein komplexes Aroma, das Noten von Vanille, Karamell, Honig und Gew\u00fcrzen enth\u00e4lt. Der Geschmack ist vollmundig und reichhaltig, mit Noten von Eiche, Honig, Gew\u00fcrzen und einem leichten Abgang von Vanille.<\/p>\n
