\n<\/strong>Die Michter’s Brennerei liegt in der Stadt Schaefferstown zwischen Philadelphia und Harrisburg. Sie wurde bereits im Jahre 1753 gegr\u00fcndet. 1988 musste die Brennerei schlie\u00dfen, da sie in wirtschaftliche Schwierigkeiten geriet. Adolf Hirsch kaufte 1974 die Lagerbest\u00e4nde auf und bringt seitdem \u00e4ltere Abf\u00fcllungen auf den Markt. Kein Michter\u2019s Whiskey wird ver\u00f6ffentlicht, bis Michter\u2018s Master Distiller Dan McKee und die Michter\u2018s Verkostungsjury ihn f\u00fcr geeignet erkl\u00e4ren.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Im Juli 1980 wurde die Brennerei vom amerikanischen Innenministerium zum Kulturdenkmal erkl\u00e4rt (wie Maker\u2019s Mark, Jack Daniel’s und George Dickel). Zu dieser Zeit war sie die \u00e4lteste sich im Betrieb befindliche Brennerei<\/span> Amerikas. Bis zum Bankrott im Jahr 1989 wurde der “Sour Mash Whiskey” noch auf dieselbe traditionelle Art produziert, wie es schon im 19 Jahrhundert.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Sour Mash Whiskey
\n<\/strong>Die US*1-Linie ist benannt, um Michter\u2018s Erbe zu ehren und an Amerikas erste Whiskey Destillerie zu erinnern. Sie besteht aus den besten Einzelfassabf\u00fcllungen.\u00a0<\/span>Michter’s Sour Mash ist nach dem Produktionsprozess benannt, den fast alle amerikanischen Brennereien bei der Herstellung ihres Whiskeys verwenden. Beim sogenannten Sour Mash wird ein Teil der bereits vergorenen Maische der frischen Maische zur\u00fcckgef\u00fchrt, um den G\u00e4rungsprozess zu starten.
\nWegen seiner Zusammensetzung aus verschiedenen Getreidesorten ist der Sour Mash weder Bourbon noch Rye. Jim Murray gab diesem Whisk(e)y 92 Punkte!!<\/p>\n
