Eigent\u00fcmer und Betreiber der Brennerei ist Beam Suntory, eine amerikanische Tochtergesellschaft der Suntory Holdings aus Osaka, Japan. Die Brennerei wurde 1898 von William Teachers Sohn Adam gebaut, um die F\u00fcllungen f\u00fcr ihre Mischung Teacher&#8217;s Highland Cream zu sichern (von der sie nach wie vor der Hauptbestandteil ist). Die Brennerei verf\u00fcgte bis Mitte der 1970er Jahre \u00fcber eigene M\u00e4lzereien und bis Ende der 1980er Jahre \u00fcber eine eigene K\u00fcferei. Sie wurde mehrfach vergr\u00f6\u00dfert und wuchs \u00fcber die Jahre erstaunlich. Daher ist Ardmore heute eine gro\u00dfe viktorianische Destillerie, deren Gr\u00f6\u00dfe angesichts ihrer sanften und l\u00e4ndlichen Umgebung \u00fcberraschend ist. Stilistisch eine echte Rarit\u00e4t \u2013 denn Ardmore steht f\u00fcr &#8220;getorften&#8221; Highland Malt Whisky. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 5,5 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong>Ardmore befand sich jahrelang im &#8220;Stall&#8221; von Teacher und lieferte den &#8220;Rauch und die Kopfnoten&#8221; f\u00fcr die jeweiligen Mischungen. Hauptm\u00e4rkte von Ardmore sind weder Schottland, Europa oder USA&#8230; sondern Indien und Brasilien!<br \/>\nDie Destille wuchs und wuchs und wuchs&#8230; Das urspr\u00fcngliche Paar Destillierapparate wurde 1955 verdoppelt und 1974 sogar vervierfacht. Dennoch befeuerte man die Brennblasen bis 2001 mit Kohle. In Schottland die vorletzte Brennerei, die dies tat bevor sie alle umstellten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: 10yo Ruby Port (Best Dram)<br \/>\n<\/strong>Diesen Ardmore Single Cask Whisky hat der unabh\u00e4ngige Abf\u00fcller Michel Reick f\u00fcr seine Abf\u00fcllserie Best Dram ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Der Single Malt durfte von 2013 bis 2023 f\u00fcr 10 Jahre reifen. Er hat seine Fassreife vollst\u00e4ndig im First Fill Ruby Port Hogshead mit der Fassnummer 589 verbracht. Der Alkoholgehalt betr\u00e4gt 57,1 Volumenprozent und der Scotch kommt ohne Farbstoff aus. Auf K\u00fchlfiltrierung hat Reick ebenfalls verzichtet. Gerade einmal 248 Flaschen gibt es zu kaufen. Absoluter Rarit\u00e4tenalarm!<br \/>\nIn die Nase legt sich der Scotch mit Eindr\u00fccken aus Rauch und dunklen Fr\u00fcchten. Dahinter liegen Weintrauben und brauner Zucker. Am Gaumen dagegen legt sich Cremigkeit auf die Zunge. Er schmeckt nach Torfrauch und nach s\u00fc\u00dfem Zucker. Dahinter liegen Noten aus Portwein und Gew\u00fcrzen.<br \/>\nDer Abgang ist langanhaltend. Der Single Cask Whisky verabschiedet sich mit Noten aus Gew\u00fcrzen und Rauch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:<\/strong> Die Abf\u00fcllungen von Best Dram stehen f\u00fcr pers\u00f6nlich und vor Ort ausgew\u00e4hlte Abf\u00fcllungen, die den hohen Anspr\u00fcchen der beiden Whiskykenner Mike M\u00fcller und Michel Reick gerecht wird. Nur die besten und interessantesten Spirituosen finden den Weg in die Best Dram-Range. Daf\u00fcr garantieren die Freunde mit ihrem Namen&#8230;und zwar auf jeder einzelnen Flasche!
