Sie befindet sich in der Gemeinde Yuanshan im Kreis Yilan auf Taiwan. Die Brennerei ist nach dem alten Namen des Landkreises Yilan benannt und wurde im Dezember 2005 fertiggestellt. Seit M\u00e4rz 2006 produziert sie ihre ersten Spirituosen und brachte im Dezember 2008 ihre erste Abf\u00fcllung auf den Markt. Im Januar 2010 sorgte eines der Produkte der Brennerei f\u00fcr Aufsehen, als es drei schottische Whiskys und einen englischen Whisky in einer Blindverkostung schlug, die in Leith (Schottland) zur Feier der Burns Night organisiert wurde. Weitere Preise und Auszeichnungen folgten umgehend&#8230; als &#8220;Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year 2011&#8221; (vom Whisky Magazine) ausgezeichnet&#8230; im Jahr 2015 wurde der Vinho Barrique-Ausdruck von Kavalan bei den World Whiskys Awards zum besten Single Malt Whisky der Welt gek\u00fcrt&#8230; und 2016 dann der Kavalan Solist Amontillado Sherry Single Cask Strength&#8230; usw. usw. Aktuell hat Kavalan ein Produktionsvolumen von ca. 9 Mio. Litern.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Nach den ersten Anf\u00e4ngen kaufte Kavalan einen neuen Satz gr\u00f6\u00dferer deutscher Brennblasen, um die Produktion zu erweitern. Nachdem sie von 2008 bis 2010 mit diesen Brennblasen experimentiert hatten, beschlossen sie, die Brennblasen (f\u00fcr Whisky) wieder &#8220;einzumotten&#8221;. Warum? Weil sie einen Alkohol produzierten, der zu verarbeitet war und es Kavalan nicht erlaubte mit Textur und Geschmack zu arbeiten. L\u00f6sung? Kavalan nutze diese Brennblassen f\u00fcr Gin. Im Jahr 2019 f\u00fchrte Kavalan den ersten Gin ein. Der Gin von Kavalan hebt sich von anderen Gin-Angeboten durch die Verwendung taiwanesischer Kr\u00e4uter, Gew\u00fcrze und Botanicals wie Kumquat, rote Guave und getrocknete Sternfr\u00fcchte ab&#8230; eine deutsch-taiwanesische Erfolgsgeschichte!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Ex Bourbon Oak<br \/>\n<\/strong>Wie die Kavalan Sherry Oak hat auch der ex-Bourbon Oak von Kavalan die gleiche fantastische &#8220;Fl\u00fcssigkeit&#8221;, die in Solist-Ver\u00f6ffentlichungen verwendet werden (in diesem Fall nat\u00fcrlich im Bourbon-Fass gereift). Verd\u00fcnnt oder veredelt wird der Single Malt mit lokalem Quellwasser auf eine Abf\u00fcllst\u00e4rke von 46%. Tolle Verpackung und in der Nase mit &#8220;duftenden, tropischen Fr\u00fcchten, die eine blumigen Note mit Vanille und Mango haben&#8221;. Am Gaumen zeigt sich dann &#8220;durchgehend Mango, eine w\u00fcrzige Gerste, eine sanfte Eiche und eine wollige, cremige F\u00fclle&#8221;.
