Die beiden begannen 2017 mit dem Anbau der Gerstensorten Bere und Iskria im Ort Raasay. In Zusammenarbeit mit dortigen Kleinbauern baut die Brennerei nun in der Gegend die eigene Gerste an. Zur Trocknung der Gerste wird lokaler Torf verwendet. Raasay ist bem\u00fcht, diese Art der Zusammenarbeit auszudehnen, um einen 100-prozentig regionalen Isle of Raasay Single Malt herzustellen. Die Hebrideninsel ist gepr\u00e4gt von wilder Natur und ungleichm\u00e4\u00dfigen Fl\u00e4chen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong>Die Flaschenform stellt ein Spiegelbild der Insellandschaft dar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Special Release 2022 Rye and Sherry Double Cask<br \/>\n<\/strong>Die Isle of Raasay Rye and Sherry Double Cask ist eine faszinierende Abf\u00fcllung der Isle of Raasay Distillery, die das Beste aus zwei Welten vereint \u2013 Roggenwhisky und Sherry-F\u00e4sser. F\u00fcr den Double Cask reifte der Whisky aus getorften (48-52ppm) und ungetorften Rohbr\u00e4nden zun\u00e4chst in Peated American Oak Rye Whiskey Casks. Zur Veredelung zogen die Brenner anschlie\u00dfend eine Kombination aus Pedro Xim\u00e9nez und Oloroso Sherry Quarter Casks heran. Im Insel-Whisky trifft kr\u00e4ftige Sherrynoten mit Kirsche auf Aprikosen und Holzrauch auf Salzkaramell. Dunkle Fruchtnoten bringt bereits der Rohbrand mit. Zudem sorgen mineralreiches Raasay-Wasser und eine sehr lange Fermentation von bis zu 118 Stunden (5 Tage) schon vor jedem Fasskontakt f\u00fcr den charakteristischen Geschmack s\u00fc\u00dfer Brombeerfr\u00fcchte.
