\n<\/strong>Die australische Starward Brennerei mit Sitz in Melbourne produziert seit 2015 Whisky. Der Gr\u00fcnder, David Vitale, ist italienischer Abstammung, jedoch in Melbourne aufgewachsen. Seine Wurzeln sind ihm sehr wichtig, weshalb Starward Whisky ausschlie\u00dflich in Rotweinf\u00e4ssern reift. Die Geschichte der Starward Brennerei begann 2007, als der Gr\u00fcnder David Vitale beschloss, eine Destillerie in Melbourne zu er\u00f6ffnen. Urspr\u00fcnglich aus dem Craft-Beer-Bereich kommend, erwog Vitale zun\u00e4chst die Er\u00f6ffnung einer Microbrauerei. Aufgrund des wechselhaften Wetters in Melbourne h\u00e4tte es jedoch Probleme mit der Haltbarkeit des Biers gegeben. Nachdem er erkannt hatte, dass Bier und Whisky im Entstehungsprozess doch viele Gemeinsamkeiten haben, wie etwa bei den Zutaten und der Fermentation, entschied er sich stattdessen f\u00fcr den Bau einer Brennerei.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt:<\/strong> Das Besondere an den Whiskys der australischen Brennerei ist ihre Reifung, die komplett in ehemaligen Weinf\u00e4ssern erfolgt. Die N\u00e4he zur italienischen Kultur sp\u00fcrt man nicht nur in der Verwendung von Rotweinf\u00e4ssern, sondern auch in der Verbindung zum Essen. Vitale wollte einen Whisky herausbringen, den man nicht nur nach dem Essen genie\u00dft, sondern auch w\u00e4hrenddessen. Somit passt der Starward Whisky auch wunderbar zu Melbourne, wo es eine lebhafte Food-Szene mit K\u00fcchen aller L\u00e4nder gibt.<\/p>\n

Whisky\/Whiskey: Single Barrel The Barossa Valley
\n<\/strong>Die Starward Distilley legt mit dem Single Barrel The Barossa Valley eine Abf\u00fcllung aus dem Einzelfass vor. Daf\u00fcr bauten die Melbourner ihren tropisch-fruchtigen Rohbrand in einem ehemaligen Rotweinfass aus. Starward f\u00fcllt \u201eNew Make\u201c stets mit einem niedrigeren Alkoholgehalt in die weinseligen Barrels. So geben diese umso mehr Fruchtnoten und Tannine an den Whisky ab. Dieses Einzelfass aus franz\u00f6sischer Eiche enthielt zuvor Rotwein aus dem Barossa Valley. Diese \u00e4lteste Weinregion Australiens ist f\u00fcr ihre opulenten, von der Hitze S\u00fcdaustraliens gepr\u00e4gten Weine weltweit bekannt.
\nIn Kombination mit Starwards Rohbrand ergibt sich ein verf\u00fchrerisches Potpourri, in dem roter Apfel und Erdbeeren die Fruchtkomponente stellen und dunkle Schokolade eine herbe S\u00fc\u00dfe beitr\u00e4gt.<\/p>\n
