Hinter Suntory steht die Suntory Holdings Limited (jap. \u30b5\u30f3\u30c8\u30ea\u30fc\u30db\u30fc\u30eb\u30c7\u30a3\u30f3\u30b0\u30b9\u682a\u5f0f\u4f1a\u793e) &#8211; allgemein als Suntory bezeichnet &#8211; ist eine japanische multinationale Brauerei- und Destillationsunternehmensgruppe. Das 1899 gegr\u00fcndete Unternehmen ist eines der \u00e4ltesten Unternehmen im Vertrieb von alkoholischen Getr\u00e4nken in Japan und stellt japanischen Whisky her. Suntory wurde von Shinjir\u014d Torii (\u9ce5\u4e95 \u4fe1\u6cbb\u90ce) gegr\u00fcndet, der am 1. Februar 1899 sein Gesch\u00e4ft Torii Sh\u014dten in Osaka er\u00f6ffnete, um importierte Weine zu verkaufen. Im Jahr 1907 begann das Gesch\u00e4ft mit dem Verkauf eines Lik\u00f6rweins namens Akadama Port Wine (Akadama bedeutet w\u00f6rtlich &#8220;rote Kugel&#8221;, ein Euphemismus f\u00fcr die Sonne). Das Gesch\u00e4ft wurde 1921 zur Kotobukiya Company. Um sein Gesch\u00e4ft weiter auszubauen baute Torii Japans erste Malt-Whisky-Destillerie, die Yamazaki Distillery im Jahr 1923. Die Produktion begann im Dezember 1924 und f\u00fcnf Jahre sp\u00e4ter wurde mit dem Suntory Whisky Shirofuda (White Label) der erste in Japan hergestellte Single Malt Whisky verkauft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun fact: <\/strong>Fast jeder hat schon mal &#8220;Suntory&#8221; getrunken&#8230;<br \/>\nKennt ihr &#8220;Orangina&#8221; &#8211; geh\u00f6rt zu Suntory! Chita, Hakushu, Hibiki, Kakubin, Yamazaki aus Japan&#8230; Connemara, Kilbeggan, The Tyrconnell (aus Irland)&#8230; Ardmore, Auchentoshan, Bowmore, Glen Garioch, Laphroaig (aus Schottland) geh\u00f6ren alle zu Suntory, da sie im April 2014 den Kauf des gr\u00f6\u00dften US-amerikanischen Bourbon-Produzenten, Beam Inc. (Hersteller von Jim Beam), f\u00fcr 16 Milliarden US-Dollar bekanntgegeben haben. Dieser Deal hat Suntory zum drittgr\u00f6\u00dften Spirituosenhersteller der Welt gemacht und die neue Tochtergesellschaft in Beam Suntory umbenannt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Yamazaki 12yo 100th Anniversary Edition<\/strong><br \/>\nDieser Suntory Yamazaki wurde zu Ehren des hundertj\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4ums von House of Suntory im Jahre 2023 in limitierter Auflage abgef\u00fcllt. Der Name Yamazaki bedeutet &#8220;Bergkap&#8221; und bezieht sich auf die einzigartige geografische Lage der Brennerei, die inmitten einer Reihe von bewaldeten Bergen liegt.<br \/>\nDas Flaschendesign zeigt die erste und \u00e4lteste Malt Destillerie Japans, welche im Jahr 1923 gegr\u00fcndet wurde und ist eine Hommage an den Geburtsort des japanischen Whiskys. Durch die Reifung in einer Kombination aus amerikanischen Eichenf\u00e4ssern und japanischen Mizunara-Eichenf\u00e4ssern erh\u00e4lt dieser Whisky seine besondere Charakteristik.
