Bei Lochlea ist man auf seinen regionalen Bezug besonders stolz. So wird f\u00fcr den hier gebrannten Single Malt ausschlie\u00dflich Gerste aus eigenem Anbau verwendet. Der Whisky der Lochlea Distillery wird unter dem Motto \u201cdare to be honest\u201d produziert. Dies bedeutet, dass der Single Malt von der Ernte der eigenen Gerste bis zur Abf\u00fcllung in die Flasche nachverfolgbar sein soll. Beim Thema Whisky ging es bei Lochlea Schlag auf Schlag&#8230; Im August 2018 nahm die Lochlea Distillery ihren Betrieb auf, im Jan. 2022 erschien mit dem First Release die erste, stark limitierte Abf\u00fcllung. Im M\u00e4rz 2022 wurde die &#8220;Sowing Edition&#8221; vorgestellt und seit Ende 2022 gibt es den &#8220;Our Barley&#8221;. J\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: ca. 0,2 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:<\/strong> Beim Thema &#8220;Master Distiller &amp; Blender&#8221; konnte man gleich zu Beginn bei Lochlea einen echten Coup landen. Nachdem Malcolm Rennie noch die ersten Schritte geleitet hat (ist mittlerweile bei keinem geringeren als der wiederer\u00f6ffneten Rosebank Distillery), konnte man einen echten Star der Whisky-Branche als neuen Chef verpflichten&#8230; John Campbell, der bisherige Master Distiller bei Laphroaig!!!! Well done Lochlea&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: Ploughing Edition<\/strong><br \/>\nDer vierte limitierte saisonale Single Malt der Lochlea Destillerie, die Ploughing Edition. Inspiriert vom Winter und der Verbindung zwischen der Lochlea Farm und Robert Burns, der von 1777 bis 1784 auf der Farm lebte und arbeitete. Er wurde in der Burns Night 2023 auf den Markt gebracht und ist der erste rauchige Whisky, der aus der Ayrshire-Destillerie stammt und in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Islay-Whiskyf\u00e4ssern und getorften Viertelf\u00e4ssern gereift ist. Ergebnis ist ein w\u00e4rmenden, leicht getorften Charakter mit Noten von gekochten \u00c4pfeln, Paran\u00fcssen, gekochten S\u00fc\u00dfigkeiten und anhaltendem Torfrauch im gesamten Gaumen verleihen. Limitiert auf 11.000 Flaschen.
