Wie viele der noch aktiven Betriebe, wurde die Brennerei viele Male verkauft und auch immer wieder geschlossen. Seit dem Jahr 1994 ist Bowmore im Besitz der Suntory Unternehmensgruppe. Der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Anteil der Whiskys wird in spanischen Sherryf\u00e4ssern gelagert, welche charakteristisch f\u00fcr das auszeichnende Aroma der Destillerie sind. Sein Wasser bezieht die Brennerei aus dem Fluss Laggan, welcher sich durch eine sehr torfreiche Gegend schl\u00e4ngelt. Bowmore produziert rund zwei Milllionen Liter Alkohol pro Jahr.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fakt:\u00a0<\/strong> Die Lagerh\u00e4user von Bowmore liegen direkt am Loch Indaal. Eines der Lagerh\u00e4user, das legend\u00e4re &#8216;Vault No. 1&#8217;, ist das einzige Lagerhaus in Schottland, das unter dem Meeresspiegel liegt. Durch die leicht por\u00f6sen W\u00e4nde herrscht in diesem <span class=\"tx-datamintslossaryextension-no-replacement\">Lagerhaus<\/span> stets eine klamme Feuchtigkeit. Diese besonderen Bedingungen geben dem Bowmore Scotch Single Malt die einzigartige Aromatik von Salz und Seearomen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whisky\/Whiskey: 18yo<br \/>\n<\/strong>Ein sensationeller Malt von der atlantischen K\u00fcste des wilden Islay: der Bowmore 18yo Single Malt. Als fester Bestandteil des Bowmore Kernsortiments ist der Bowmore 18 YO Single Malt ein Must-Have f\u00fcr Whisky-Fans. Trotz intensiver Torf- und Rauchnoten ist der Bowmore 18 durchaus auch f\u00fcr Einsteiger in die Welt der Islay Whiskys zu empfehlen \u2013 durch die Reifung im Sherry Fass wei\u00dft der Scotch n\u00e4mlich herrlich intensive Fruchtnoten auf, die die rauchig torfigen Noten harmonisch erg\u00e4nzen und den wilden Islay Malt dadurch angenehm zug\u00e4nglich machen. Die Kombination aus Rauch und Frucht macht den Bowmore 18 schlicht unwiderstehlich. Der Bowmore 18 kombiniert auf sehr charmante Weise die rauchige Torfnote, f\u00fcr die Islay-Drams so bekannt sind, mit einer wohlgereiften Portion Frucht. Letztere verdankt er seiner langen Lagerung in Sherryf\u00e4ssern. Bei Bowmore hat man ohnehin einen Fable f\u00fcr die Sherry-Fass-Reifung &#8211; ob f\u00fcr die gesamte Reifezeit oder als Finish. Zu den Aromen von reifen und getrockneten Fr\u00fcchten gesellen sich beim Bowmore 18yo Single Malt noch eine gute Portion Rauch und dunkle Schokolade, eine kleine Spur Honig und zum Finale hin die so Brennerei-typische Meeresbrise.
