Glentauchers Distillery ist eine schottische Whiskybrennerei aus der Speyside. Glentauchers war ein weiteres Mitglied der “1890er Jahre-Bande” und wurde 1898 von James Buchanan & Co. gegr\u00fcndet, um F\u00fcllungen f\u00fcr seine Buchanan’s- und Black & White-Mischungen bereitzustellen. Das heutige Geb\u00e4ude von Glentauchers wurde damals von John Alcock entworfen und von Charles Doig & Son (einer der Architekten der schottischen Whiskywelt) \u00fcberwacht. Glentauchers ist eine der vielen Destillerien, die Anfang der 1980er Jahre unter dem Nachfrageeinbruch litten und 1985 geschlossen wurden. \u00dcberraschend zu der damaligen Zeit wurde Glentauchers 1989 von einem direkten Konkurrenten von Diageo, Allied Distillers, aufgekauft. Daher sind Malts aus dieser Destillerie eher selten und schwierig zu haben. Erst im Jahr 2000 wurde eine offizielle Abf\u00fcllung (ein 15 Jahre alter Whisky) ver\u00f6ffentlicht. Aktuelles j\u00e4hrliches Produktionsvolumen: 4,5 Mio. Liter.<\/p>\n

Fun Fakt: <\/strong>Glentauchers geh\u00f6rte auch zu den Destillerien, die das entstehende Schienennetz rund um Schottland nutzten und ihre eigenen spezifischen Eisenbahnanschl\u00fcsse in die Brennerei bauten. Der “Weiler Tauchers” wurde bis 1964 vom Bahnhof “Tauchers Platform” bedient, wobei zeitweise auch ein eigenes G\u00fctergleis direkt zur Brennerei f\u00fchrte. Quasi ein eigener Bahnhof, mit eigenen Schienen direkt in der Brennerei… wie praktisch!

Whisky\/Whiskey: 1997 \/ 21yo Cask Strength (The Ultimate Whisky Company)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Glentauchers 1997 ist ein lang gereifter Single Malt Whisky, der Teil der Cask Strength Serie von The Ultimate ist. 1997 destilliert und 2019 nach 21 langen Jahren in einem Hogshead abgef\u00fcllt. Angenehme Einfl\u00fcsse von , Sherry, Fr\u00fcchten und Kr\u00e4utern bilden die Basis. Anschlie\u00dfend folgen komplexe Schichten, die sich mit einiger Zeit im Glas immer mehr \u00f6ffnen. Limitiert auf nur 158 Flaschen. Die hier angebotene Flasche hat die Flaschen Nr. 113. Sidenote zum Abf\u00fcller:<\/strong> The Ultimate Whisky Company” wurde 1994 gegr\u00fcndet, als Han und Maurice van Wees begannen, ihre besten F\u00e4sser Single Malt f\u00fcr die Abf\u00fcllung auszuw\u00e4hlen. Jede Ultimate-Abf\u00fcllung beginnt mit der Verkostung von Fassproben im Lager sowie in den eigenen B\u00fcros in den Niederlanden, um sicherzustellen, dass die Qualit\u00e4t den Ultimate-Standards entspricht.<\/p>\n
